About the Author:
SPEAKING: Lou Dean is available for Lectures, School Talks, Readings, and Writer's Workshops for adults and children K-12. She has spoken in an auditorium setting to as many as 1,000 young people and also loves small classroom groups. She speaks to Book Clubs, Youth Groups, and Civic Organizations. Lou Dean speaks to audiences of all ages about her journey as a writer. In 1993 when a dog named Jake saved the author from a life-threatening accident, she became aware of her spiritual connection to animals which led to her award winning first book, Angels In Disguise. Other topics for her school lectures are: Creating Character Journaling The Art of Description Synchronicity and Music of the Soul In 2001 Lou Dean rode her donkey across the state of Colorado to promote non-violence in schools. Lou Dean spoke to kids and gave away copies of her books along the 400 mile pilgrimage. The day before the journey ended Lou Dean received news of her latest award.
